Head Housekeeper

£22,000 with accommodation

£25,000 without accommodation

Uniform provided

48 hours a week

21 days holiday plus days in lieu of bank holidays


My client has an opening for an experienced and competent Head House-keeper to join their friendly yet busy team, where you will play a key part in driving standards forward.


You will be responsible for all tasks related to the house- keeping department of the business, be able to lead and motivate your team and ensure at all times you are meeting and exceeding standards of cleanliness and ensuring guest satisfaction.


Duties to include:

• Supervising house-keeping staff, including recruitment, dealing with holidays and absences as well as training and mentoring the team to ensure they are working to the best of their abilities and morale is high

• Co-ordinating rotas and making sure sufficient staff are working to deal with demands

• Overseeing ordering of supplies and stock, including stock control management and reducing costs and wastages where possible

• Carrying out housekeeping tasks when required

• Checking and monitoring employees work to ensure this has been carried out in line with company guidelines and to the standards required

• Offering excellent levels of customer care when required

• Liaising with other department heads to ensure the smooth running of the organisation and improving processes and systems where possible


Ideal Candidate:

• Proven track record in a Head House-keeper capacity - ideally within hospitality / travel sector


• Able to demonstrate natural leadership and communication skills


• Previous experience of organising rotas and dealing with ordering / stock duties


• A thorough understanding and ability to implement slick and effective processes and standards within the department


• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills


• Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines


• Able to work the hours the business dictates
