What is the purpose of the Hydraulic Design Engineer role?
To provide support to the Engineering Director and operations and customers, by ensuring Design builds are quoted designed and adhere to all compliance.
 
What will you do as the Hydraulic Design Engineer?
  • Design Hydraulic Systems solutions in accordance with customers’ requirements based incorporating the latest BS/ISO standards.
  • Assist the Engineering Director in ensuring that the company’s engineering standards are maintained to the highest level
  • Ensure that all proposals put forward comply with the relevant statutory requirements and meet best practices as defined by the British Fluid Power Association
  • Ensure that the company always seeks to propose the best solution for a customer’s application
  • Personally manage designated key projects
  • Assume overall responsibility for the on-time completion of all engineering design projects, pre and post contract
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety requirements of the Company & its customers are met
  • Provide technical advice & guidance to the Company’s internal & external sales teams
What skills and experience will you have as an Hydraulic Design Engineer?
  • 3 years minimum experience, with proven results, working in the fluid power engineering industry or a similar field of engineering.
  • HND in Electrical Engineering or similar qualification(s)
  • BFPA (British Fluid Power Association) / NFPC (National Fluid Power Centre) approved qualifications.
  • In depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, hydraulic system design with ability to design, read hydraulic circuit diagrams and complete relevant hydraulic formulae calculations.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering practices and applications
  • HND in Electrical Engineering or similar qualification(s)
  • Commercial expertise to maximise financial returns
  • Good understanding of current IT systems and their potential benefits to the organisation, as a minimum Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe etc.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCad LT.
  • Understanding of Solidworks (3D CAD) would be beneficial
  • Full driving licence as some travel will be involved
