Multi-skilled Shift Engineer in Okehampton Up to £43,000.00 per year

Our client; a leader in their field, is seeking  a Multi-skilled Shift Engineer to play a key role in their company's success. They are looking for a highly skilled individual who can adapt to various aspects of their operations, providing top-tier engineering expertise to enhance their performance. 
  
Monday to Friday  40 hours per week in Okehampton.
Week 1 0600 – 1400 hours
Week 2 1400 – 2200 hours
1 in 4 Saturdays working on Overtime at time and one half.
Flexible approach to working hours required.
 
What is the purpose of the Multi-skilled Shift Engineer?
 
To develop a professional and proactive engineering service for the Company through best practice and operational excellence within engineering.
 
To co-ordinate the engineering function on site so that it effectively supports manufacturing by optimising resources and contributing towards business targets and objectives.
 
Develop and pursue process development opportunities that exist for the benefit and improvement of the Company.
 
What will you do as the Multi-skilled Shift Engineer?
  • Operational Excellence: Provide professional engineering support throughout our company, ensuring optimal efficiency and seamless operations.
  • Emergency Response: Act swiftly to address engineering emergencies, minimizing downtime and production losses.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records of all maintenance work, root causes of failures, and consumables/spares used.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine and planned preventative maintenance, contributing to the longevity of our equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend engineering enhancements to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and drive profitability.
  • Project Support: Collaborate on engineering projects as needed to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Compliance: Develop and implement procedures to meet regulatory and legal obligations, ensuring we operate within compliance.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure products and materials meet our stringent quality standards through thorough checks.
  • Process Optimization: Monitor onsite processes, proactively suggesting improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers to benefit our business.
  • Problem-Solving: Contribute ideas and solutions to address challenges and drive better task execution.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental and organizational goals effectively.
  • Documentation: Oversee the creation and regular review of engineering documentation, including compliance documents.
  • Safety: Monitor, review and uphold the highest standards of health and safety, ensuring a secure working environment for all.
What experience and qualifications will you need to be the Multi-skilled Shift Engineer?
  • Education: Completed a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Qualification: Possess a recognized engineering qualification, such as ONC or HNC/HND.
  • Electrical Skills: Proficient in electrical work, including fault finding and analysis.
  • Detail-Oriented: Methodical with a strong attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
