The company

Cooper Golding is recruiting on behalf of an expanding engineering business that’s been established in Devon for 40 years. Offering a complete engineering and repair service, it specialises in hydraulics and pneumatics, with a client base that includes energy, defence, and aerospace.

 

What is the purpose of the Service Engineer?

As a member of the skilled engineering team you will work both within the workshop and at client sites, performing inspection, maintenance and repair work across a wide and varied range of systems. You will be the face of the company when at client sites, so at all times presenting a professional and customer focused approach.

 

What will you do as the Service Engineer?

  • Carrying out repairs of customer equipment and plant within their busy workshop
  • Perform maintenance and breakdown cover to a wide variety of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Promoting the company at all times when communicating with customers
  • Carry out repairs both on site and in the workshop in a timely manner
  • Test complex systems to schedule to ensure correct operating criteria are met before delivery to customer
  • Fault diagnosis, inspection and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.

 

What skills and experience will you have as the Service Engineer?

  • A good understanding of computer systems in a fast-moving environment would be advantageous
  • Must have excellent literacy and numeracy skills, experience of Word and Excel to an intermediate level is essential
  • Must have experience of working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience of basic turning and milling operations would be a distinct advantage
  • Ideally will have experience in a similar service role, preferably within and engineering or plant maintenance environment.
