The standard full-time working week is eight hours a day, 5 days a week. Would it be more beneficial to work ten hours a day, over the period of 4 days? The shortened workweek is already in place in multiple countries and is said to have its pros and cons.

Studies have shown that a 4-day week can not only be beneficial to employees by reducing stress and increasing productivity, but beneficial to the environment by reducing employees carbon footprint. However, along with the advantages come disadvantages; could there be a decrease in employee productivity due to the long hours? Would we be under more pressure to get things done?

So, should we have a 4-day working week? Is it down to the business’ needs? Let us know your thoughts.
