Account Manager

Job description

Our Client is a full service ad/design agency, based in Bideford North Devon.  The agency employs 13 staff and services clients across the whole of the UK.  The agency was launched to offer the experience and expertise of larger agencies to clients of all sizes, given the founding Directors experience from working on brands such as Ford, Audi, Wrigley’s, Tesco, BP & NatWest.  Bluesoup has grown consistently since launch, reinvesting profits into staff and systems.  The agency is focussed on helping clients increase sales through engaging, responsive and effective campaigns using a range of media.

Our client is not a sweat shop.  They work hard, but don’t encourage long hours unless entirely necessary.  Most staff arrive at 9:00, with some arriving at 8:00, and most are gone by 5:45.  We are lucky to live and work in an amazing area and don’t believe in staying at work for the sake of it, when families, beaches & coast paths beckon at the end of the day.  There is a gym and shower in the office allowing staff to cycle into work and exercise at lunchtime or after work.

The Role: Our client has a range of clients based across the UK.  Many are in the travel sector, but not exclusively.  And whilst many work with us as a full service agency, there are plenty who will just work with us on digital projects, one off creative briefs or even the odd standalone website.

As such we need an experienced individual to join the team, helping to ensure that both internal and external teams are working to deliver against the brief, on time and on budget.  Some of this will entail planning and buying offline media, either directly or through a partner agency.

The Person The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director to ensure we are maximising revenues whilst prioritising client satisfaction and client retention.  The individual will be responsible for their own portfolio of accounts as well as helping to prepare responses to new business opportunities as required.

The successful candidate will need a keen eye for detail, be accurate and organised as there are generally multiple campaigns being discussed & booked at any one point. Whilst they are working closely with the Managing Director, they will also be expected to liaise directly with their clients to ensure deadlines are met.

The ideal candidate will already have enjoyed a spell in a media and/or advertising environment.  They will have a basic working knowledge of core media channels, be they offline or paid digital channels.

The successful candidate will have a can do, sleeves rolled up approach.  Our Client is still a small agency so there is no great hierarchy.  Digital activity will be executed by the 2 Digital Media Managers/Executives. but other activity will be bought by this individual.
