Injection Mould Setter / Technician

Permanent
4 x 12 hour days
£13 per hour plus time and a half for extra 8 hours

What will be the responsibilities of the Injection Mould Setter / Technician?
 
  • Organise & prioritise tool change referencing priority list provided by Production
  • Ensure all surplus equipment/tools are removed from presses and correctly stored
  • Prior to start ups, keeping press area clean after tool changes
  • Ensures all ancillary equipment required is in place in a safe condition & ready for use
  • Completes machine safety check log when tool change is complete
  • Completes first off trials to a satisfactory nature & provides as a sample to QC
  • Takes remedial action if first off trials are not satisfactory & stays on job until they are to standard required
  • Liaise with Shift Supervisor & QC to enable resolution of issues as they arise on shift
  • Investigate & deal with moulding problems as they arise & provide solutions
  • Ensure production start ups are carried out in a timely manner
  • Monitor production levels/cycle times during shift & take remedial action when required
  • Completes setting sheets & records variations on process sheet and/or End of Run Report
  • Ensures Last off sample are supplied to QC and Toolroom


What skills and experience will the Injection Mould Setter / Technician have?
 
  • Working knowledge of plastics moulding tools
  • Appreciate the care areas o mould tools, especially shut out's
  • Hands on maintenance experience
  • Understand mould construction
  • General engineering practices
  • House keeping and hygiene
  • Ability to collaborate with teams across several areas/site locations
Although not essential, the following would be desirable:

  • Ability to read tool drawings
  • Mould tool maker or press tool setter
  • Ability to take over and manage tool setting operation both technically and financially
