Purchasing Assistant required in a flexible part-time role Wednesdays and Fridays to assist the purchasing team in a busy office environment in Barnstaple.  Working between 15 hours minimum up to 22 hours per week.

What is the purpose of the Purchasing Assistant?
 
Working closely with the Purchasing Manager, assisting with day to day running of purchasing department.
 
What you will do as the Purchasing Assistant?
  • Order processing (Sales & POs) for standard stock items and bespoke products
  • Checking confirmations and invoices.
  • Daily purchasing reports.
  • Updating system information, e.g. ETAs, prices, supplier codes.
  • Working closely with the sales team to provide product information.
  • Chasing suppliers for information, e.g. confirmations, despatch / delivery dates.
  • Liaising with shippers and keeping track of container orders.
  • Ensuring goods are despatched from suppliers in a timely fashion and all necessary information is available for UK Customs Clearance.
  • Running reports to communicate with other departments, e.g., scheduled deliveries.
  • Price list – Liaising with suppliers, proofreading, populating spreadsheets.
  • Liaising with customers to arrange the services of products
  • Purchasing of all general office consumables
What will the Purchasing Assistant get in return:
 
 Salary of £22,000.00 - £26,000.00 dependent on experience plus:
• 23 days paid annual leave increasing to 28 days after 6 full years of continuous service.
