Seeking an experienced Store Person to join and make an impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment in a hands on role.
 
Job Title: Stores Person
Location: Tiverton
Hours: Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 & Friday 08:00 - 13:30
Salary: £29,400 per annum 
 
About the Stores Person Role:
A hands-on role within a world-renowned manufacturing company based in Devon for over 150 years.
This is a highly accountable role which is key to the efficiency of the operation in its totality. The essence of the role is to organise and control the Company store's function which includes, but is not restricted to, goods in, goods out, controlling the issuing of parts to production, inventory accuracy, stock takes, loading and unloading vehicles using company forklift truck and working closely with the spares, service and production team.
Training will be provided to familiarise the successful applicant with the specialist machinery and equipment we supply along with our internal computer systems.

Responsibilities of the Stores Person:
  • Goods inwards and goods outwards
  • Issuing parts to the production team
  • Support the Workshop supervisor in organising shop floor Engineering material/components to ensure workflow efficiency within the dept.
  • Ensuring the stores and yard are kept tidy and keep exits clear
  • Responsible for wood packaging material in accordance with procedure MWS 47.0 (Issue 1 August 2007)
  • Inventory control
  • Picking and packing of spare parts
  • E-commerce picking and packing
  • Health and Safety and ISO 9001 compliance
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Storage management
  • Responsible for weekly checks on the company vehicles
Requirements of the Stores Person:
  • Previous experience in a storeman/yard role preferred
  • Working in an engineering/manufacturing stores environment.
  • Experience with inventory management systems
  • Experience with MS Office and other IT systems
  • Flexibility and curiosity with a willingness to learn and apply yourself to areas with which you are not familiar
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Ecommerce warehouse fulfilment advantageous
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good level of computer skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Forklift Truck licence
  • Driving licence
  • Inventory Control to include regular Rolling stock counts.
  • Mechanical and Assembly skills (advantageous)
