What is the purpose of the Supplier Quality Engineer role?
 
To drive continuous improvement through supply base by effective performance measurement, 8D and RCCA management.
 
What will be the responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer?
  • Ensure compliance to ISO9001, AS9100 and customer standards
  • Conduct supply chain audits and visits and act as focal point for quality
  • Drive continuous improvement to deliver RFT and COPQ objectives to include RCCA, PPAP, 8D and control plans
  • Define site wide supplier listings with approved scope for each supplier
  • Interact with key stakeholders, suppliers and internal customers as required
  • Training, coaching and support of Supply Chain team
  • Ensure team compliance with BMS process and procedure documentation creation
  • Identifying and resolving problems with appropriate tools and techniques
  • Drive and facilitate effective RCCA through AS13000
  • Manage customer returns using RMA and driving to root cause
  • Managing Permit/Waiver status
  • Conduct internal and external audits to AS9100
  • Raising quality awareness levels
  • Coordination and leading PPAP activity
What skills and experience will the Supplier Quality Engineer have?
  • Understanding of AS911 and Business Management Systems
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create and work to KPIs in a performance driven environment
  • Effective RCCA problem solving
  • Experience in aerospace or similar
  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Lead or Internal Auditor qualified (AS9100)
  • Experience of Customer FAIR to AS9102
  • Qualification in Quality/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience of application of Lean tools
