Job Summary
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work closely with the operations team, to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.
Responsible for developing, and improving electrical systems, equipment, and processes within the manufacturing environment. Troubleshooting electrical issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and product quality.
 
Main Duties & Responsibilities

- Implement electrical systems, control panels, and automation solutions for manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve electrical equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reliability, and quality of manufacturing processes.
- Undertake PPMs on equipment.
- Liaise with the Engineering Manager to ensure the supply of appropriate parts.
- Minimise the amount of downtime suffered by the site following machine breakdowns.
- Provide key 'process control' fault finding, code diagnosis and general all-round PLC.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement.
- Drive Root Cause Analysis and strive to prevent re-occurrence with counter measures
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with industry standards.
- Support safety audits, risk assessments, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Support capital projects related to electrical systems, automation, and manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare technical documentation, schematics, and reports for projects.
 
 
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
 
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition certification.
- Inspection and Testing 2391/2 or equivalent.
- Experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Have a proven track record in an Engineering and fault-finding role gained from within a FMCG environment, within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Electrical knowledge and ability on machinery.
- Excellent process control knowledge. Able to fault diagnose multiple PLC platforms
- Ability to deploy and execute the preventative maintenance strategy for the site
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, PLCs, automation, and control systems.
- Driven to deliver solutions, ideas, and innovations in a positive and pragmatic way
- Experience with xxx software and electrical design tools.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices.
- Passionate about quality and best practice whilst driving continuous improvement
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience with power distribution, drives, and motor control systems.
- Knowledge of Industry and smart manufacturing technologies.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance systems.
