What is the purpose of the Quality Controller?
Your role is to work as part of a team of multi-skilled Inspectors in a diverse manufacturing environment covering Aerospace products, Investment Castings, Mechanical and Electrical components, and composites.
 
What are the responsibilities of the Quality Controller?

• Mechanical / Electrical inspection of Aerospace product
• In Process Inspection
• First Article Inspection
• Work on own initiatives and resolve any issues or problems in line with company procedures
• Investigate quality issues to resolution, in conjunction with all necessary internal or external bodies relating to product/process/system. These may be initiated by internal or external customers
• Maintenance of Quality Records and Metrics
• Support the shop floor with Technical issues if required
• Auditing of Approved Operators
• Support training of others in products and processes for your area
• Because of the changing nature of our business, your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
• You will be required to undertake all responsibilities above in line with your Grade

 
What are the qualifications and experience required for the Quality Controller?

• Use of Measuring Equipment
• Able to interpret Engineering Drawings
• Previous experience required, although training can be provided
• Experience of Goods In Inspection and processes advantageous
• Aerospace knowledge is advantageous
• Experience of FAIRs to AS 9102
• IT Skills
• Root Cause Tools - 5 why's / 8D
• City & Guilds
• An apprentice trained in a relevant discipline is advantageous
