What is the purpose of the Engineering Project Manager role?
- To manage and instigate the preparation, planning and scheduling through to installation, commissioning and optimisation, including revenue and capital projects, plant enhancement and process optimisation
- To provide engineering technical support and fault-finding skills to ensure the efficient operation of the process.
What will be the responsibilities of the Engineering Project Manager?
- Daily management of projects team
- Drive continuous improvement projects
- Creation of capital and revenue project proposals and documentation
- Operation and maintenance of CAD database
- Involvement in planned preventative and predicative maintenance techniques
- Ensure project work is scheduled and executed in a safe and timely manner in line with company expectations
- Provision of leadership, development and coaching to direct reports
- To investigate, understand and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Duty manager on rota basis
- Provide out of hours support where required
- Specification and purchasing of all components necessary to meet project goals and targets
- Liaise with outside vendors and service providers to ascertain technical requirements, capabilities and work scopes
- Ensure EHS compliance to both company and legislative regulations and standards
- Asbestos management
- Ensure all project engineering activities within area of responsibility are in full compliance with all statutory regulations
- Actively seek to improve safety culture
What skills and experience will the Engineering Project Manager have?
- Time served engineer with supervisory experience required
- Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant engineering area
- Experience of managing in a maintenance-engineering environment
- Excellent IT skills
- Technical expertise to extract and manipulate data and identify trends
- Technical report writing, production of relevant documentation to support project transfer
- Ability to solve engineering problems in an effective and timely manner
- Ideally have experience with project management software
- Familiar with production of Gantt charts and project presentations
- Ability to write risk assessments and method statements
